HSBC to Establish First Global AI Centre of Excellence in Singapore and Add More Than 200 Roles

HSBC is expanding its Singapore operations by establishing its first Global AI Centre of Excellence in the second half of 2026. The hub will develop scalable AI capabilities for wealth management, treasury, and digital payments, with its AI specialists working alongside HSBC Chief AI Officer David Rice and relevant business teams. HSBC plans to hire more than 100 AI specialists and add 100 wealth relationship managers, while partnering with educational institutions and government bodies to build a talent pipeline and maintain strong governance and human oversight.
