Meta Releases Muse Image AI Model, First Product from Alexandr Wang's Superintelligence Lab

Meta has released Muse Image, its first proprietary image-generation AI model developed under Chief AI Officer Alexandr Wang's Superintelligence Labs. Rolling out on July 7, 2026, across Instagram, WhatsApp, and Meta AI, the model allows consumers to generate images for free, while routing power users to paid subscription tiers. Meta is also integrating Muse Image into its Advantage+ ad suite to serve over 8 million advertisers, part of a broader push to monetize its massive $145 billion infrastructure budget.
