UK breast cancer screening guidelines miss 95% of women under 50 who develop disease, study finds
Research from University of Cambridge and Institute of Cancer Research reveals that current NHS and NICE referral criteria fail to identify up to 95% of women under 50 who develop breast cancer within a decade. The study suggests a comprehensive risk assessment tool called BOADICEA identifies eight times more at-risk women than current family-history-based guidelines.
