Juan Jairo Coronilla Durán, a 28-year-old Mexican national vacationing in the U.S. on a valid tourist visa, was struck and killed by a tractor-trailer in St. Augustine, Florida, while running from Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents. The incident occurred just two days after he arrived in Florida from Mexico.
After months of delay, federal prosecutors have turned over key evidence including statements, police body camera video, and other materials to Minnesota investigators probing the fatal shootings of Renée Good and Alex Pretti during immigration enforcement protests. Hennepin County Attorney Mary Moriarty announced her office now has access to the comprehensive evidence, which also relates to the shooting of Julio Sosa-Celis.
