LayerZero and Keeta Partner to Enable Tokenized Bank Deposits Across Ethereum, Solana, and Base

Jul 23, 2026

LayerZero and Keeta have partnered to make tokenized commercial bank money natively transferable across Ethereum, Solana, Base, and the Keeta Network. Keeta Stablecoins will be backed by commercial bank deposits held through Bivo, a U.S.-licensed financial technology platform, and are scheduled to become available later in July 2026 in nine currencies, including the U.S. dollar, euro, and Japanese yen. Using LayerZero’s OFT standard, the system allows issuing institutions to retain full contract authority across supported chains; LayerZero and Keeta presented it as an open-public-chain alternative to closed, bank-only tokenized deposit networks.

LayerZero-Keeta partnership announcement

  • ▪LayerZero and Keeta announced a partnership on July 23, 2026, to enable tokenized commercial bank deposits to transfer across the Keeta Network, Ethereum, Solana, and Base.
  • ▪Keeta is integrating LayerZero as an anchor within the Keeta Network to strengthen the connection between its native settlement layer and external blockchain ecosystems.

Keeta Stablecoins multi-currency launch

  • ▪LayerZero said Keeta Stablecoins will become available later in July 2026 in U.S. dollars alongside eight other currencies: the euro, Japanese yen, Chinese renminbi, British pound, Canadian dollar, Mexican peso, UAE dirham, and Hong Kong dollar.
  • ▪Unlike traditional reserve-backed stablecoins, Keeta Stablecoins represent actual commercial bank deposits formatted for institutional treasury, payments, and cross-border settlement.

OFT standard cross-chain transfers

  • ▪Keeta Stablecoins utilize LayerZero's Omnichain Fungible Token (OFT) standard, which allows issuing institutions to retain full contract authority and operational control over their tokens across all supported chains.
  • ▪LayerZero’s OFT standard allows Keeta Stablecoins to move natively across supported blockchains while the issuing institution retains full contract authority.

Bivo banking custody infrastructure

  • ▪The commercial bank deposits backing Keeta Stablecoins are held through Bivo, a U.S.-licensed financial technology platform connected to domestic payment rails and a partner-bank network.

Public blockchain institutional adoption

  • ▪LayerZero and Keeta said Keeta is a Visa Direct payments platform partner and achieved a verified throughput of 11.2 million transactions per second in a public stress test conducted in collaboration with Google’s Spanner engineering team.
  • ▪Neither LayerZero nor Keeta has disclosed any participating bank customers, committed transaction volumes, or total value locked figures for the partnership.

Tokenized bank deposits competition

  • ▪LayerZero and Keeta presented their partnership as an open-public-chain alternative to a closed, bank-only tokenized deposit network planned by a consortium of major U.S. banks.
  • ▪Traditional financial institutions like JPMorgan, through its Onyx platform, and Citigroup have also been independently experimenting with tokenized bank deposits.
