PTC Therapeutics has won a competitive bankruptcy auction to acquire Sangamo Therapeutics' experimental Fabry disease gene therapy, ST-920, for $111 million in cash up front and up to $100 million in regulatory milestones. Sangamo, which filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in June 2026, also sold neurology assets to Eli Lilly for $50 million. PTC plans to complete the rolling FDA submission for ST-920 in Q4 2026, targeting a commercial launch in 2027. Analysts view the acquisition as a highly favorable, low-risk entry into the $2 billion Fabry disease market.
