NVIDIA Launches Halos for Robotics, First Full-Stack Safety System for Physical AI

NVIDIA has launched Halos for Robotics, the industry's first full-stack safety system designed to secure physical AI and autonomous machines working alongside humans. Drawing on over 18,600 engineering years of autonomous vehicle safety, the platform unifies industrial-grade hardware like the IGX Thor computer with Halos OS software and the open-source Outside-In Safety Blueprint. Agility Robotics is the first partner to integrate the system into its Digit humanoid robots for customers like Amazon and Toyota, supported by an ANSI-accredited AI Systems Inspection Lab.

▪NVIDIA IGX Thor and the NVIDIA Holoscan Sensor Bridge provide industrial-grade AI computing, built-in safety, and real-time sensor connectivity.
▪NVIDIA IGX Thor features a dedicated Functional Safety Island capable of IEC 61508 SIL 3, physically isolated from the main compute domain.

Halos OS software stack

▪NVIDIA Halos Core is available in early access for registered developers in Linux and Linux plus QNX OS for Safety 8.0 configurations.
