Palo Alto Networks announced its intent to acquire Portkey, a pioneer in AI Gateway technology that processes trillions of tokens per month with low latency for agent-to-agent communication. The acquisition, expected to close in Palo Alto Networks' fourth quarter of fiscal 2026, will integrate Portkey as the AI Gateway for Prisma AIRS to inspect AI traffic and enforce security and governance policies at runtime. Portkey provides access to over 3,000 LLMs and MCP tools via a unified interface while enabling 99.99% uptime through semantic routing and automated failovers.
