Sam Altman's World identity verification project is significantly expanding its partnerships across dating apps, concert ticketing, business communications, and document signing platforms. Tools for Humanity announced Friday that Tinder is launching World ID verification globally, offering users five free boosts for completing Orb-based iris scanning that creates anonymous cryptographic identifiers. World is also integrating with Ticketmaster and Eventbrite through its Concert Kit feature, with 30 Seconds to Mars and Bruno Mars planning to use it for upcoming tours, while partnering with Zoom, Docusign, and Okta to combat deepfakes and verify authentic users in business contexts. The company has created three verification tiers ranging from iris-scanning Orbs now distributed in major retail chains across New York, Los Angeles, and San Francisco, to mid-level government ID scans and low-level selfie checks that prioritize local device processing for privacy.
