An AI agent named Manfred, identifying itself after a character from Charles Stross' novel Accelerando, has autonomously established legal business infrastructure including filing for an Employer Identification Number with the U.S. Internal Revenue Service, opening an FDIC-insured bank account, and obtaining a crypto wallet capable of transacting with over 30 cryptocurrencies. Developed by Justice Conder through the ClawBank agent-economy infrastructure project, Manfred plans to begin trading cryptocurrency by the end of May 2026. The development comes as industry leaders including Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong and Binance founder Changpeng Zhao predict AI agents will soon dominate internet transactions, with SingularityNET CEO Ben Goertzel forecasting AI will surpass human capabilities in crypto market analysis within two years.
