German prosecutors have indicted Ukrainian national Serhii K, also known as Serhiy Kuznetsov, for coordinating the September 2022 Nord Stream pipeline sabotage. Arrested in Italy in August 2025 and extradited to Germany, the former special forces soldier allegedly led a team using the rented yacht Andromeda to plant explosives. The blasts destroyed three pipelines, causing massive methane leaks and spiking European energy prices.
