Scientists transplant human brain tissue into mice lacking cortex for first time
Stanford researchers genetically engineered mice without cortex or hippocampus and successfully replaced those regions with human brain organoids, creating a new platform for studying neuropsychiatric diseases including frontotemporal dementia and autism.
